Ted Talks
Watching this clip made it more obvious as to why we never notice movie mistakes often; we’re to entranced in what we’re watching that we don’t realise the errors that are made by the directors/actors make for example if in an action film you’re watching a fast paced scene you wouldn’t realise whether or not the driver wore a ring on his left hand and on his right the next minute. A real life movie mistake is in one of the Star Wars films you see one of the storm troopers bumping their head on a door frame. Only once someone else tells you the mistake in the movie do you then recognise the movie mistake, but even then you sometimes fail to notice the same movie mistake as once again you’re entranced in what you’re watching. Using sound effects also draws our attention to what’s happening in the scene rather than the mise en scene and props.
